Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced
    2 gal. cold water
    3 c. lime
    3 pt. vinegar
    5 lb. sugar
    1 Tbsp. allspice, ground
    1 Tbsp. ginger, ground
    1 Tbsp. cloves, ground
Preparation
    Mix lime and water.
    Add cucumbers.
    Let soak for 24 hours. Rinse cucumbers and soak in cold water for 4 hours.
    Change water every hour.
    Combine vinegar, sugar and spices.
    Bring to a boil. Turn fire off and add cucumbers; cover and let stand overnight. Next morning, bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.
    Seal in jars.
