Apricot Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    3/4 c. apricot preserves (or you can use cooked dried apricots, sweetened)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, flour, salt and nuts. Spread half the mixture in a 7 x 11-inch buttered pan.
    Spread apricots over this to within 1/2-inch of edge.
    Spread remaining batter over preserves and bake in 325\u00b0 oven for about 1 hour or until golden brown.
    Cool and cut in squares.
