Taco Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 clove garlic
    2 lb. lean ground beef
    1 small onion, chopped
    3 (4 oz.) cans chopped green chilies or 1 can Ro-Tel
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
    1 can lima beans, rinsed and drained or 1 can whole kernel corn
    1 can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
    1 pkg. taco seasoning
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 pkg. Ranch dressing mix
    1 can hominy, drained
    3 (14 1/2 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
Preparation
    In a large Dutch oven or kettle, brown beef and onion. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
    May be put in crock-pot.
    Top with shredded Cheddar cheese and serve with tortilla chips, if desired.
    Yields 10 servings.
