Calico Bean Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 to 1/2 c. dry navy beans
1/3 to 1/2 c. dry black-eyed peas
1/3 to 1/2 c. Great Northern beans
1/3 to 1/2 c. kidney beans
1/3 to 1/2 c. dry butter beans
1/3 to 1/2 c. black beans
1/3 to 1/2 c. pinto beans
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped carrot
1 c. chopped celery
meaty ham bone or 2 c. chopped ham
2 c. chopped tomatoes
salt to taste
pinch of baking soda
Preparation

Rinse and drain all beans and peas, black beans separately. In a big pot, cook beans and peas with ham bone for 3 hours.
Cook black beans separately, then drain and add to other beans.
Remove ham bone.
Add veggies and salt.
Cook another hour.
Yummy!
