Oliebollen(Tradition For New Year'S Eve In Holland) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake yeast (2/3 oz.)
    1 c. milk
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. currants or raisins
    1 tart apple
    oil for frying
Preparation
    Blend yeast with a little lukewarm milk.
    Sift the flour and salt.
    Add milk.
    Mix to a batter with yeast and egg.
    Add currants, raisins and peeled, minced apple.
    Leave batter in a warm place to rise to double in size.
    Heat oil to 375\u00b0.
    Put two metal spoons into the batter. Shape balls and drop into oil.
    Fry for 8 minutes or until brown. Drain and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
