Apple Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 to 2 Tbsp. water or milk
Preparation
    Combine apples, sugar, flour, vanilla and cinnamon; set aside. Combine flour and salt; with a knife or pastry blender cut in shortening.
    Add eggs, lemon juice and enough water to form a workable dough.
    Divide dough in half, roll out half on floured board.
    Line 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Fill with apple mixture.
    Roll out remaining dough, cover apples and seal edges.
    Brush top with milk. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool for 30 minutes.
    Top with sauce.
    Yields one 13 x 9-inch cobbler.
