Jane'S Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. yellow cornmeal
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. light cream
    1/2 c. whole milk
    5 Tbsp. butter, melted
Preparation
    Mix sugar and meal in a bowl. Sift in flour, soda, baking powder, allspice and salt.
    Mix well. Add egg, milk and melted butter. Stir well, but do not beat.
    Pour into loaf pan or an 8 x 8-inch pan that has been greased.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done. This freezes and toasts well.
