Water Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream well shortening and sugar.
    Blend eggs one at a time; set aside.
    Sift together flour, salt and baking powder.
    Combine water and vanilla.
    Add alternately to creamed mixture beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Blend thoroughly after each addition with mixer on low speed.
