Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. oleo
    3/4 c. milk
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. sour cherries
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water or juice from can
Preparation
    Mix 1 cup sugar, softened oleo and milk.
    Put flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Add flour mixture to the first mixture. Put batter in pan and cover as follows: sour cherries, 1 cup sugar and water or juice from can.
    Bring cherries to boil.
    Let cool before putting on top of batter.
    (Bake in moderate oven from 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350\u00b0.)
