Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 c. flour
Preparation

Beat sugar into soft butter.
Add egg, milk and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients, sifted together.
Mix well; chill at least 1 hour.
Roll out a small portion of the dough at a time.
Cut with cookie cutters.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool cookies on wire racks or cutting boards before storing in tins with tight lids.
