Chili Con Carne With Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pinto beans, soaked and cooked as pkg. directs until tender
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 large onion, chopped (or more if you like)
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 (14 oz.) cans canned tomatoes
    2 to 3 Tbsp. chili powder to taste
    1/2 tsp. ground cumin
    dash of dried basil
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
Preparation
    In a large skillet, brown onion and garlic (use olive oil), then add meat to skillet and brown it, too.
    Put meat mixture into a large saucepan, rinsing the skillet with a cup of water and adding it also.
    Add tomatoes and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until thick as you like.
    (Two or three hours doesn't hurt.)
    Before serving, add the drained beans and heat them through in the chili.
