Christmas Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. almond extract
    food colorings
    cloves
    red clear sprinkles
Preparation
    Cream together butter and sugar.
    Add remaining ingredients except last three.
    Divide dough into as many balls as you plan to make fruit.
    The idea is to shape this dough into fruit shapes: strawberries, little peas in a pod, apples and bananas.
    For each fruit you wish to make, you'll need to add enough food coloring to that portion of dough to make the color you desire.
    You'll need red for strawberries, green for peas in the pod and yellow for apples and bananas.
    Add the food coloring to make a good strong color because baking will cause the color to lighten.
