Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    25 small cucumbers
    10 pickling onions
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. turmeric seed
    2 red peppers
    1 pt. white vinegar
    1/2 pt. water
    1/2 c. pickling salt
Preparation
    Cut up vegetables into thick slices.
    Place in layers with salt.
    Allow to stand 3 to 4 hours, then drain.
    Mix remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Add vegetables and boil for 5 minutes.
    Place in hot jars and seal.
