Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    6 oz. frozen lemon juice
    1 qt. ginger ale
    4 oz. can maraschino cherries and juice
    ice
    1 c. water
    1 orange
    3 (6 oz.) cans frozen orange juice
    1 pt. lemon or orange sherbet
Preparation
    Heat water and sugar to dissolve, then cool.
    Add all ingredients and serve.
