Scalloped Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium white cabbage
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. black pepper
    10 saltine cracker crumbs
    3 c. sweet milk
    1/2 c. grated cheese
Preparation
    Shred cabbage as for slaw.
    Boil 20 minutes in salt water; drain.
    Place layer of cabbage in buttered baking dish.
    Dot cabbage with butter and sprinkle with pepper.
    Cover with layer of cracker crumbs.
    Repeat layer to fill dish, ending with a layer of crackers.
    Cover with milk.
    Bake until brown in a 350\u00b0 oven.
