Jewish Chewies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts
2 1/2 c. flour
1 pkg. brown sugar
4 eggs
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Beat eggs well.
Mix brown sugar with egg.
Place on stove in pan of water and cook 15 minutes.
Stir while it's cooking to keep from turning into sugar.
Let cool.
Add baking powder, vanilla, nuts and flour.
Mix well.
Pour into pan and bake 1/2 hour.
Let cool and cut into squares.
Add dates, if desired.
