Creeping Crust Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. pitted sour cherries and their juice
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cook cherries and their juice with 3/4 cup sugar until sugar melts.
    Melt butter; sift together 1 cup self-rising flour and 1 cup sugar.
    Add milk.
    Pour this batter over the melted butter but do not stir.
    Pour cherries over the batter and again do not stir. Bake for 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
    Serve plain or top with ice cream or whipped cream.
