Sassy Bonbons(August 1968 American Girl) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
    1 c. applesauce
    1 tsp. almond extract
    5 c. powdered sugar
    2/3 c. maraschino cherries, chopped and drained
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 can (3 1/2 oz.) Angel Flake coconut
Preparation
    In a heavy aluminum saucepan, combine semisweet chocolate chips, applesauce, and almond extract.
    Stir over low heat until chocolate is melted and blended with applesauce.
