Hot And Sour Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. fresh mushrooms, thin strips
    1/2 c. bamboo shoots
    1/4 lb. pork or chicken, cooked and shredded
    4 c. chicken broth
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 scallions
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 lb. tofu strips
    2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
    1/4 tsp. hot sauce
    2 Tbsp. arrowroot or cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine mushrooms, shoots, meat, soy sauce and pepper in broth.
    Bring to a boil and simmer 4 minutes.
    Add tofu, vinegar and hot sauce.
    Mix arrowroot and water.
    Add slowly to soup.
    Stir until soup thickens.
    Slowly stir beaten egg into hot soup.
    Garnish with scallions.
    Serves 4 to 6.
