Senate Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. small white beans
    2 qt. water
    1 1/2 lb. cubed ham and ham broth
    1 c. chopped onions
    1 c. chopped celery
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. oregano leaves
    1 tsp. basil leaves
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Soak beans as called for. Combine ingredients; cook for 1 1/2 hours. Remove 1 cup of beans and mash; add to pot. Cook for additional 30 minutes.
