1 1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. baking cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter or margarine and sugar in large mixer bowl.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
Gradually blend into the creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 9 minutes.
Do not overbake.
(Cookies are soft, they will puff during baking, flatten upon cooling.)
Cool until set (about 1 minute).
Remove from cookie sheet.
Makes approximately 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
