Overnight Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, broken in pieces
    1 c. green pepper, chopped
    1 pkg. peas, thawed (may use canned)
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1 onion, sliced
    1 c. mayonnaise
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    8 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
Preparation
    Layer first 5 ingredients.
    Spread with mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle with sugar, cheese and bacon.
    Refrigerate, covered, overnight. Toss when ready to serve.
