Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. light corn syrup
    3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    1 c. broken nuts
Preparation
    Place in saucepan over low heat sugar, corn syrup and water. Stir only to mix the ingredients, then cook without stirring to 255\u00b0.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    When temperature of 255\u00b0 is reached, remove from heat and pour, beating constantly with electric mixer, in a fine stream into the stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Continue beating until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Spread in buttered 9 x 12-inch pan or drop quickly by teaspoon onto waxed paper.
