Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lentils
    2 medium onions, finely chopped
    2 lb. beef (hamburger or steak may be used; cube the beef)
    3 large or 6 small potatoes
Preparation
    Soak lentils for at least 2 hours.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Put all ingredients in a large pot with water to cover, and cook at least 1 hour or until vegetables and meat are tender.
