Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 qt. sliced cucumbers
6 medium onions
3 garlic bulbs
3 c. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
1/2 c. salt (canning)
5 c. sugar
Preparation

Slice cukes, onions and garlic.
Put 2 trays of ice cubes on top.
Let set 2 hours, or, if desired, let set in refrigerator until crisp.
Drain off water.
In kettle, cook cukes, onions, garlic and remaining ingredients until tender.
Pour into jars while hot.
