Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. salad oil or shortening
    2 or 3 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda, salt, cinnamon and baking powder
    1 c. pecans
    3 c. chopped raw apples
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. caramel or butterscotch pieces
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips (optional)
Preparation
    Mix oil, eggs and sugar.
    Sift all dry ingredients and add to mixture.
    Stir in apples and nuts.
    Top with 1/2 chips.
    Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Pour half of chips in batter and the other half on top.
    Improves flavor if sits 1 day.
