Homemade Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    medium onion, finely diced
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 large cans tomato sauce
    1 large can tomato paste
    2 Tbsp. oregano
    1 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. fennel seed
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. minced garlic
    1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
    meatballs and/or sausage
Preparation
    In large Dutch oven, simmer onion in oil.
    Pour in tomato sauce and tomato paste; stir thoroughly.
    Add remaining ingredients; simmer on low for 1 hour.
    Add meatballs and/or cooked sausage; continue cooking for another hour.
