Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Pour boiling water over rolled oats and let stand for about 20 minutes. Cream the shortening and white and brown sugars.
Add eggs and beat well. Add oatmeal mixture. Blend in flour which has been sifted with salt, soda and cinnamon. Add vanilla and nuts. Beat until smooth.
Pour into oblong pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
