Portuguese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onions
    3 Tbsp. oil
    1 lb. smoked sausage
    2 cans beef broth
    1 can kidney beans
    1 small head cabbage
    6 potatoes, diced
    1 c. catsup
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Saute onions and sliced sausage in oil until onions are transparent and sausage is browned.
    Add all other ingredients, including bean liquid to a large pot.
    Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 45 minutes until potatoes are cooked.
    Serves 4.
