Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. milk
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    9 eggs, separated
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Combine milk, sugar, flour and egg yolks.
    Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into milk mixture.
    Simmer over hot water (double boiler).
    Will take 5 hours or more.
    It will thicken as it simmers.
    When thick enough, sprinkle with nutmeg and chill.
