Gold Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together into mixing bowl.
    Add shortening, 2/3 cup milk and vanilla.
    Beat vigorously for 2 minutes.
    Add remaining 1/3 cup milk and unbeaten eggs; beat 2 minutes.
    Pour into 2 round waxed paper lined 8-inch cake pans. Can also be baked in a 13 x 9-inch cake pan.
