Gracie'S Raised Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    3/4 c. warm milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. warm water
    3 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 c. Crisco
    1 egg
Preparation
    Mix yeast and warm milk in bowl.
    Add 2 cups of flour and beat until smooth.
    Let rise in warm spot until it has doubled in bulk. Cream Crisco, sugar and salt.
    Add egg.
    Add to raised flour and yeast; add remaining flour and beat until smooth.
    Let rise until it has doubled in bulk.
    Roll out on floured board and cut.
    Let stand until it has doubled in size and fry off in Crisco.
    Makes 24 and they are real good!
