Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 eggs
    1 (16 1/2 oz.) can corn
    2 or 3 peppers
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 tsp. bacon drippings
    1 medium onion
    1/2 lb. grated cheese
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except cheese and pour into pan.
    Cover with half the cheese.
    Pour in the rest of the batter and cover with remaining cheese.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0).
    Done when firm in center.
