Chocolate Butter Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    3 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 envelope gelatin
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 1/2 c. butter
Preparation
    Butter a 9-inch square pan.
    Mix sugar and dry gelatin in saucepan.
    Add milk, syrup, chocolate and butter and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until soft ball stage (238\u00b0), ball flattens when taken from cold water.
    Remove from heat.
    Pour into large mixing bowl.
    Flavor with vanilla and cool 15 minutes. Beat until candy thickens.
    Spread in buttered pan.
