Gatlinburg Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 Ritz crackers
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
    3 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    whipped topping
Preparation
    Crush crackers; add 1/2 cup sugar and the nuts.
    Mix together. Beat egg whites until stiff; add remaining 1/2 cup sugar to egg whites and vanilla.
    Fold egg mixture into crackers.
    Pour into a buttered pie pan and bake at 300\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    When cool, spread whipped topping over pie and refrigerate.
