Apple Streudel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (margarine)
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 large jar applesauce
    cinnamon (optional)
    butter
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder; cut in shortening until the size of peas.
    Add sugar; cut again.
    Add eggs that are slightly beaten.
    Blend all ingredients thoroughly.
    Place on an ungreased cookie sheet with a rim, 3/4 of the ingredients.
    Cover with applesauce.
    Add remaining ingredients on top.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Add dots of butter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1/2 hour or until brown.
