Southern Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    1 lb. pecans
    1 lb. lite brown sugar
    1/2 lb. red cherries
    1/2 lb. green cherries
    1/2 lb. cut up candied pineapple
    6 eggs, separated
    4 eggs, separated
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 oz. lemon extract
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add yolks, one at a time.
    Add extract.
    Dredge fruit and nuts with 2 cups flour.
    Then add other 2 cups to mixture.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Let sit overnight.
    Keep covered tightly.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 3 hours. Makes 2 loaves.
    Put pan of water in oven while baking cakes to make cakes moist.
