Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix shortening, margarine, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and egg thoroughly.
Blend all dry ingredients and add. Roll dough into 1 1/4-inch balls.
Place 3-inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets.
Flatten crisscross style with a fork dipped in flour.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated 375\u00b0 oven.
Makes 3 dozen, 2 1/2-inch cookies.
