Boston Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 egg, beaten well
    1/2 c. nuts
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. shortening (rounded)
Preparation
    Cook raisins and water for 10 minutes. Add egg and nuts to raisin mixture. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Combine sugar and shortening to dry ingredients. Fold in raisin mixture; fill 3 (No. 2) cans 1/2 full. Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
