Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. corn meal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 medium onion, chopped fine
1 c. milk
bacon grease

Preparation

Sift dry ingredients. Add onion, milk slowly, till dough is soft, easily handled. Shape round flat cakes, fry in bacon grease in iron frying pan, or roll into balls, drop into deep fat until brown, crisp.
