Icebox Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. Nabisco 100% Bran
    1 c. (heaping) Crisco
    3 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 qt. buttermilk
    5 c. flour
    5 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    4 c. Kellogg's All-Bran
    dates, raisins or prunes (optional)
Preparation
    Combine boiling water and Nabisco 100% Bran; let stand for 1 hour.
    Cream sugar and Crisco.
    Add well beaten eggs, buttermilk and soaked bran.
    Sift together flour, soda and salt.
    Add all at once with Kellogg's All-Bran.
    Fold until ingredients are well moistened.
    Store batter in refrigerator.
    This will keep at least 2 weeks.
    I keep in refrigerator for a few hours before making the first batch.
    Bake in greased muffin cups at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
