Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix, prepared according to pkg.
    1/2 c. or 1 small can evaporated milk
    1 c. pecans
    14 oz. pkg. caramels
    3/4 c. butter
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
    Pour 1/2 of batter into Pam-sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake for only 15 minutes.
    In top of double boiler over hot water, melt together caramels, milk and butter.
    Pour this over baked portion of cake.
    Sprinkle pecans and chocolate chips over mixture.
    Spread on remaining batter.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. If desired, before returning cake to oven, sprinkle 1/2 cup pecans over top of the batter.
