Pear Honey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. pears, unpeeled
    3 lb. sugar
    1 large can crushed pineapple
Preparation
    Wash, core and put pears through a meater grind or chopper. Add sugar and let stand 2 hours or overnight.
    Cook like preserves (around 1 hour), then add pineapple about 20 minutes before canning.
    You may want to use juice of 1 lemon (optional).
    Put in clean, sterilized pint jars.
    Makes about 5 pints.
    Delicious served on toast and it can be mixed with peanut butter to make a sweet sandwich.
