Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. sifted flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 Tbsp. caraway seed (optional)
    2 1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. raisins
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter (1/4 lb.)
    1 egg, slightly beaten
Preparation
    Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda; cut in butter until mixture looks like coarse corn meal.
    Stir in raisins and caraway.
    Add buttermilk and egg to dry mixture, blending only until all flour is moistened.
    Butter and
    flour pan or skillet.
    Bake for 1 hour or until knife comes out dry.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
    Makes 2 loaves.
