Ingredients

2 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
3 eggs
2 Tbsp. anise flavored liqueur
2 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. anise seed
6 oz. pkg. Nestle Toll House little bits semi-sweet chocolate
1 c. coarsely chopped, toasted almonds
Preparation

In small bowl,\tcombine
flour\tand
baking powder; set aside. In large
bowl,
combine sugar and butter;
beat until creamy. Add eggs, liqueur,\twater
and anise seed; beat until well blended.
Gradually add flour mixture.
Stir in chocolate bits and almonds.
Cover;
chill
several hours.
Preheat oven to
375\u00b0; divide dough
in
fourths.\tWith
floured
hands
on greased cookie sheet shape dough into
four

1/2 x 2 x 1/2 inch loaves.
Bake at 375\u00b0
for 15 minutes.
Remove from oven; cut into 1 inch slices.
Place
slices
back
on cookie sheet. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 7 minutes.
Turn cookies on other side.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 7 more
minutes.
Cool
completely.
