Ingredients

1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
1 c. nuts
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 3/4 c. hot water
Preparation

Add flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cocoa.
Stir in milk and shortening.
Blend in nuts.
Spread in a 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle with mixture of brown sugar and cocoa.
Pour water over entire batter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
During baking, cake mixture rises to top and chocolate sauce settles to bottom.
Invert squares of pudding on dessert plates. Dip sauce from pan over each piece.
Serve warm with or without whipped cream.
