Ham Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 Tbsp. margarine
1/2 lb. lean smoked ham, cut in small cubes
1/2 c. finely cut celery
1/4 c. chopped onion
2 c. partially cooked potatoes
4 Tbsp. flour
4 c. milk
salt and pepper, if desired
garnish with parsley
Preparation

Melt margarine.
Add ham and saute on low for 5 minutes.
Add celery and onion.
Saute until tender (not brown).
Cook potatoes in boiling salted water until nearly tender.
Drain.
Blend flour in ham and vegetable mixture.
Add milk slowly.
Cook and stir until smooth and thickened.
Add potatoes.
Cook over low heat until potatoes are just tender.
Serve with parsley added.
