Snowball Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. unflavored gelatin
    4 Tbsp. cold water
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. sugar
    juice of 1 lemon
    1 small jar maraschino cherries
    1 can Angel Flake coconut
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple (also use juice)
    2 envelopes Dream Whip
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 angel food cake, broken in small pieces
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin in boiling water and add cold water.
    Mix Dream Whip as directed on box.
    Add remaining ingredients, except cake and coconut.
    Put cake in layers, then mixture, ending with mixture.
    Sprinkle top with coconut.
    Chill several hours to set. Better made a day ahead.
    (I have omitted the pineapple, nuts and cherries and used 3 to 4 cups fresh strawberries, sweetened with 3/4 cup sugar.)
    Serves 12.
