Bran Date Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium orange
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 c. Shredded Wheat and bran cereal, finely rolled (about 1 c. crumbs)
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. margarine, softened
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. Dromedary chopped dates or raisins
Preparation
    Grate 1 teaspoon of orange rind and set aside.
    Remove remaining peel from orange; chop fruit in blender or food processor adding enough water to make 1 cup. Set aside.
    In medium bowl, combine Shredded Wheat cereal, baking powder and salt; set aside. In another bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat margarine, sugar and eggs until blended. Stir in reserved orange and orange rind.
    Stir in flour mixture until well blended. Fold in dates or raisins.
    Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on rack.
