Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening (lard)
1 egg
1/2 c. cocoa (scant)
2 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. soda (scant)
2 1/2 c. flour

Preparation

Combine in order given.
Beat until smooth.
Grease and flour cake pan(s).
Bake at 375\u00b0 until done.
